All the worlds a Stage: Urban Performances

This has always been an inspiration for when I think about the city as stage. Brodsky and Utkin were collaborators for many hears in Moscow during the 80’s, winning a stream of awards for their exquisit etchings of urban proposals.  Each design critiqued contemporary social, urban and cultural issues, questioning the role of development and consumption in the rapidly changing metropolis.  The project above is a favourite, cross programming the theatre and city in a mobile stage.  The below is beautiful commentry on heritage.

Dynamic Graphics

There’s been some discussion in 4th year about the relationship of graphics and interiors  and I thought these images were an interest conversation starter in the dialogue between dynamic spaces, stark graphics and visuals and surface patterning.

Co-Isolated Exhibition

I urge you all to make sure you see this exhibition, please come to the opening on Friday night which should be a lot of fun.  More importantly, or just as importantly, the artist talks the following day from 3 – 6pm Saturday will be fantastic for anyone interested in the intersections of sculpture, space and architecture.  It’s a great opportunity to see some of the leading artists working in Sydney in this area discussing their ideas with  internationally renown philosopher Andrew Benjamin and notorious critics Adam Geczky and Elizabeth Farrelly. See you there.
